Dr. Jacqueline C. Lui
Managing Director
US Registered Patent Agent with B.Sc. in Agricultural Science and Bronze Tablet Scholar from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1981); M.Sc. (1985) and PhD. (1987) in Cell Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Jackie started her intellectual property (IP) practice in Singapore has drafted and prosecuted patent cases worldwide for Fortune 500 firms, multinational firms, and publicly listed companies in SG, HK and abroad. Besides her own biotechnology specialization, Dr Lui also has considerable IP experience in the areas of materials science, internet, manufacturing; medical devices and mechanical and chemical engineering. Jackie returned to HK in 2000 and was former Head of patent registration at Wilkinson & Grist and Executive Director of Ella Cheong (HK). She joined Eagle IP Limited as Managing Director in 2005. She is involved in advising clients on IP-related matters including strategic planning, rights procurement, portfolio management, technology transfer, due diligence and enforcement.
Jackie is fluent in English, Cantonese
and Putonghua Chinese.

Dr. Ho Chung Lui
Director
US Registered Patent Agent, B.Sc. in Electronics, Chinese University of Hong Kong (1974), M.Sc. in computer Science, U.of lllinois, Urbana (1977), Ph.D. in Computer Science, U. of lllinois, Urbana (1982).
Dr HC Lui has been involved in research and technology transfer of both information technology and electronic devices. His past appointments including Director of Strategy at Kent Ridge Digital Lab of Singapore, and Associate Director of the E-business Technology Institute at the University of Hong Kong. He has been involved in research and development of a diverse range of products, including pattern recognition, soft computing, and RFID systems.
Dr Lui has extensive experience in patent drafting from his previous work. His working languages are English, Cantonese and Putonghua Chinese.

Ms. Cindy Bian
Director of China Legal Division
Chinese attorney, member of All China Lawyers Association, Master in Law from China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, Master of Development Studies at Institute of Social Studies, the Hague, the Netherlands, Bachelor in Journalism from Inner Mongolia University.
Ms. Bian’s previous experience includes working as a manager and the IP counsel of IP&S in ShenZhen Office of Philips (China) Investment Co. Ltd. While working in Philips, she was responsible for general business operation and IP issues in Southern China including patent licensing and brand protection. Ms Bian also has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting license agreements, monitoring licensee’s compliance of license agreement, IP enforcement and representing clients in litigation and arbitration. Before joining Philips, Cindy had worked as the General Counsel in an IBM’s joint venture. She accumulated rich experiences in dealing with various legal issues arising from commercial transactions, investment and corporate management areas. Her working languages are Mandarin and English

Mr. David Lee
US Registered Patent Agent, B.S.E. and M.S.E. (Electronic Eng), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dean's list for four years, and an Angell scholar in 2003.
While pursuing his undergraduate study, David was in Dean's list for four years, and an Angell scholar in 2003.
David has a wide area of expertise, including analog, digital and mixed signal design, RF applications, microprocessor design, digital signal processing and microelectromechanical systems. He has drafted and prosecuted patent applications for foreign, multinational and local companies.

Vincent's previous experience includes working for United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner in the area of processing architectures and instruction processing. Vincent also worked as an Intellectual Property clerk in a law firm, handling various IP matters related to trademarks, patents, and other IP rights. He is knowledgeable in various areas in Computer Science and Engineering including computer architecture, embedded system, digital testing, computer software, computer networking and E-commerce.

Mr. Ricky Mak

Ricky's previous experience includes working for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Austin, Texas in the area of process control for semi-conductor manufacturing. Ricky has also worked in a life-science equipment company involved in recommending technical solutions and providing training to customers on a wide range of life-science instruments including spectrophotometers, chromatographic equipment, genetic analysis systems and liquid-handling robotic systems.

Dr. Stanley Ng
B.Sc. in Chemistry (First Class Honour) from The University of Hong Kong. D.Phil. in Chemistry from Oxford University.
Stanley has interest in various aspects of chemistry, including supramolecular, coordination and photochromic chemistry. He is especially keen on the area of nanotechnology and molecular functioning materials. As part of his doctoral research he is familiar with receptor design, multi-step organic synthesis and principles underlying the binding of substrate to host. He is also experienced with a variety of chemical characterization techniques including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (MS), UV-visable spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and X-ray crystallography.
Stanley is the awardee of the Clarendon Scholarship and Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme which funded his postgraduate studies in UK.

Dr. Salini James
Technical Consultant
B.Sc (1995) and M.Sc.(1997) in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, PhD in Organic Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, India(2007), Postgraduate Diploma in Patent Law and Practice from GNA patent Gurukul, Mumbai, India(2008)
Dr. James previous experience includes working as a patent executive in the Intellectual Property Department & Strategic Research in Calyx Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in India where she drafted and prosecuted US, Indian and PCT patent applications. She also conducted publication and patent (prior art) searches for patentability and freedom analysis.
Dr James is the co-inventor of U.S. Patent no. 6,127,553, and co-authors of several academic publications.

Ms. Yolanda Wang
M.Phil (Bioengineering) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. B.Sc and M.Sc (Biomedical Engineering) from Southeast University.
Pursuing Chinese Patent Agent certification, Yolanda has passed the relevant legal papers in the Chinese Patent Agent’s examination.
Before joining EIP, Yolanda worked as a Patent Paralegal in a local law firm, handling IP matters especially Chinese patent matters.
Yolanda has research interest in various aspects of molecular biology, especially in the area of DNA on-chip detection utilizing CMOS technology. Her research works were accepted by several top-class academic conferences and journals. With the outstanding academic achievements, she was awarded scholarship in every academic year during her study in Southeast University and has been offered MED scholarship to fund her study in Hong Kong.

Mr. Michael Zhang

Michael possesses solid legal knowledge of Mainland China and Hong Kong, focusing on intellectual property law and corporate law. Michael is experienced in dealing with trademark prosecution and enforcement in both Hong Kong and China. As a former judge assistant intern, Michael had attended trials with judges in China and had experience with litigation and court procedures in Mainland China before joining Eagle IP.
Michael was the awardee of Sun Hung Kai- Kwok’s Scholarship which funded his postgraduate study in Hong Kong. During college years, Michael was awarded a series of prizes for his outstanding all-round performance, including outstanding graduate prize of Anhui University of Finance and Economics and Three-good Student of Anhui Province.

Ms. Cuixia Guo
B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Tianjin Medical University(2006), M.Phil in Pharmeceutical Chemistry from the Tianjin University(2008) and M.Phil in Biology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong(2010).
Ms. GUO had a wide range of knowledge including medicine, pharmacology, chemical synthesis, immunology, protein isolation and analysis. Her previous research included the study of the molecular mechanism of antitumor and immunostimudulatory activities.
Awards: Three-good Student, Outstanding Student Leader, Outstanding Graduate, and Full Scholarship covering 2-year study and life in Hong Kong.

Before joining Eagle IP, Ken was a System Engineer in AAstocks which was a financial information provider. During his undergraduate study, Ken interned as a Computer Assistant at the Hong Kong International School.
Ken possesses solid knowledge in information technology and engineering, including hardware, software, electronic devices, computer architecture, signal processing and computer networking. He handles patent applications in a wide range of engineering and telecommunication fields.

Mr. Judy Wong
B.Eng. (Honors) in Electronics Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, HKUST (2003), LLM. Chinese University of Hong Kong (2008)
Being a member of the world champion team in Robocup (World Robotic Soccer) 2001, Judy has over a decade of experience in research and development. She has worked with inventors and engineers from the Hong Kong Science Park and universities in Hong Kong. During her postgraduate research studentship in HKUST, she served as a co-instructor in leading the HKUST team to win four awards including champion in the Robocon Hong Kong Domestic Competition 2005.
Besides her law training with emphasis on IP, Judy is also a trained mediator, and has handled various domain dispute cases during her internship with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC) in 2009. Her other involvement include:

Ms. Susan Fentress
Of Counsel
Ms. Fentress is presently admitted as an Attorney in the states of Wisconsin , Illinois and Tennessee , U.S.A. She is also a registered patent attorney. She obtained a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin (1980), and a J.D. from Marquette University in 1983. Her expertise includes patent litigation with the firm of Neuman, Williams, Anderson, Olson –as counsel in DuPont v. Phillips Petroleum Corp. E.I. DuPont de Nemours v. Phillips Petroleum Co. , Counsel, District of Delaware, patent infringement suit covering ethylene copolymers. Subsequently, she was Division Counsel for Baxter Health Care Diagnostic Division in charge of litigation and prosecution for this division. Representative cases include: Abbott Laboratories v. Baxter Healthcare Corp., District N.D. California (Paramax Chemical Analyzer); Baxter Health Care v. Abbott Labor, N.D. Illinois (Stratus Immunochemical Analyzer); Baxter Healthcare Corp. v. LKB Diagnostic (Patient Validity Action, Munich , Germany ).
Ms Fentress is familiar with Greater China, having visited and interacted with the technology community in Both China and Hong Kong. She has given several international speeches including: "First Step to America. A Legal Consulting Seminar for Investment and Trade in the US" in Nanjing, PRC; "Patent Related Issues for Products Imported into the United States" for the International Drug Discovery Science and Technology Conference in Shanghai, China and "Cost Efficient Patent Litigation in the US" at Hong Kong Science Park.
Besides China, Ms Fentress also has interest and experience in IP protection worldwide, including other Asian countries, such as India. She has given seminars on "Risk Management Issues with Global Development of Biomedical Products" for the Global Alliance of the Indian Biomedical Professional Annual Conference; "Taming the Intellectual Property Beast: Views from India and China" for the General Counsel Institute; "Protection of Pharmaceuticals" in China for AIPLA; and " Comparison of Patent Protection for Chemical Inventions among Canada, US and Europe" for the American Chemical Society’s 'Chemistry and the Law' Symposium, Joint Regional Meeting.
Ms Fantress was Division counsel for Baxter Health Care Diagnostics Division and prepared numerous agreements for Baxter. These agreements included; NDA, Supported Research Agreement with Universities, Patent License Agreements (to resolve patent disputes); term sheet for deals and IP portions of acquisition, divestiture and joint ventures agreements. As a legal counsel at HSHW, she has prepared manufacturing and distribution contracts, including FDA compliant quality agreements for medical devices. She has similarly, prepared numerous IP license agreements relating to patents, trademark and trade-secrets for medical devices. She has published and spoke on transactional issues. Some recent activities include: LES Annual Convention, Oct.2009 Due Diligence for Medical Device Transactions ; Published paper. Journal of Licensing Fall 2008 on “Protection of IP in China through Contracts and Good Business Practices” and Featured speaker, "Risk Management issues with Global Development of Biomedical Products, Global Alliance of Indian Biomedical Professional", annual Conference June 7th 2008.

Ms. Cong (Connie) Ding
Of Counsel
J.D., Cum Laude in University of Memphis (2009), M.S. in Michigan State University (2001) and B.M. (Chinese Medical Degree) in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
Ms. Ding concentrates her practice in the areas of intellectual property law and health care law. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Ding has extensive research experience in molecular biology and pharmaceutical sciences. While working at Michigan State University and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, she conducted research ranging from gene isolation, expression, characterization, to drug toxicity studies. Ms. Ding also has clinical experience as a Resident Doctor at Beijing Xiyuan Hospital of Beijing, China.
